Mendoza Capital City combines harmoniously natural landscapes with others which are modified by man. In a peaceful tour around the city, one can visit the main attractions. 
Along Gral. San Martín Avenue, to the North, " Paseo de las Alamedas" ( Poplars WalK) is situated having a thick vegetation, fountains and wide sidewalks which are ideal to spend relaxing moments.
A few blocks away from there, the Foundation Area is located - a historical area around Pedro de Castillo Square. Here, there is a museum that was built on the foundations of the old Town Hall where excavations, old photographs and elements from the past can be observed. They are evidence of the earthquake that damaged the city in 1861, three hundred years after its foundation.
Opposite the Square, the remains of San Ignacio Ruins after this tragic event is at sight. There, the flag of The Andes Army was blessed and allegiance to it was pledged for the first time.
Along Ituzaingó Street, O'Higgings Park is located - place where Gral. San Martín started to organize The Andes Army. 
In the tour, satellite squares are visited: Spain, Chile, Italy, San Martín Squares as well as Independence Main Square with its huge fountains springing jets being more than 15 meters high.
From this Square, one can get to the civic neighbourhood through Mitre Avenue until one gets to Pedro Molina Avenue. 
In this area, one can find Governor Emilio Civit Congresses and Expositions Center, the Juditial Power Building and Mendoza Province House where the Flag Room is located showing the emblem carried by San Martín Army when giving independence to Chile.
Then, going to the West along Emilio Civit Avenue, one gets to the French gates from the beginning of the XIX century which are the entrance to 420 hectares big San Martín Park.      
This green lung was designed by Carlos Thays in 1897. There are more than fifty thousand trees of different species appart from an artifitial lake on which banks Mendoza Yaughting Club is situated.      
The park is generaly used by Mendoza people to enjoy outdoor activities such as walks, cycling or footing.
To finish the circuit around the most attractive places in the city, one can go to the top of " Cerro de La Gloria" ( The Glory Hill) where a monument in homage to The Andes Army is settled - an attractive sculpture by Uruguayian Juan Ferrary. In addition, there is a beautiful panoramic view of the city.
